As many of our long time followers know, in May of 2025 we lost a member of the LLAR team who had been with us for many years. Serena Bennett started out volunteering with her family, and through the years became an integral part of our organization. She was willing and able to help out in any department, was first on board for rescue missions, and did all of those things wearing the big smile we all knew her for.

It has been a tough year getting used to the new normal here without her. While she is still with us in spirit on every rescue we undertake, and with every animal that goes to its new home, we wanted to do something specifically for her going forward each year. On September 27, we will be holding our First Annual Serena Bennett Memorial Adoption Event, hosted by her alma mater, Northwest Nazarene University here in Nampa.

Join us from 12 pm-3pm to meet adoptable cats, dogs, and rabbits, and shop some local vendors! We will be set up at the Brandt Center on the NNU campus at 707 Fern St. We hope to see you there.
